It’s nearly that time again: the British summer time (yay) and with this edit, I’m willing on the sunshine as I type so I can get my Cutler and Gross shades on quick!
Never heard of Cutler and Gross? Where’ve you been?!
This iconic label was founded in 1969 by Graham Cutler and Tony Gross who met in optometry school at Northampton College and their flagship store at 16 Knightsbridge Green is where they started creating handcrafted frames; making a name for themselves in the industry.
Clients met in the atelier for a true bespoke consultation as literally everything from the milling of the lens groove to the fitting of the hinges was done by hand with each pair taking 4 weeks from start to finish.
Over the years many companies use mass production, manufacturing their frames from moulds but the Cutler and Gross customer has always been unique, craving the handcrafted feel of a bespoke pair of glasses, the quirky cool style of the frames, a brand synonymous with individuality!
From Madonna to Debbie Harry, these glasses scream chic and the diva in me simply can’t decide which ones to buy.
