This is so incredibly simple, I’m not even sure it warrants being called a recipe tbh but it’s something I experimented with when I fancied a sweet yet wholesome treat that was low sugar/ low carb.
This chocolate yogurt is low GI too meaning my blood sugar is kept stable which helps with weightloss/management.
I’ve also been known to eat this for breakfast!
Without further ado, enter stage left this complete babe of a chocolate yogurt.
A three ingredient taste sensation, I’ve been making up big batches for a quick breakfasts and I love this as a dessert after dinner.
I saw a recipe the other day on FB where protein powder is added to the yogurt too for an additional muscle building whammy so do consider adding some too perhaps after a work-out.
This really is the most simply delicious treat imaginable and you can use coconut yogurt and maple syrup for a vegan option if you prefer, and you can top with fruit of your choice too (ideally berries to keep it low carb). My fave is with chocolate shavings! I did pop a raspberry on top at least, on some of them!
I’d run out of dark chocolate so ended up using Green & Blacks milk chocolate here which isn’t really a low carb option. I only ended up eating a tiny bit though and didn’t get a sugar crash dip as I would if I’d eaten lots.
After rustling these up in literally minutes, my husband took the prettiest pictures ever. Swoon. Yogurt has never looked so good, huh!
Ingredients:
(serves 4)
- 450 g plain full fat Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon honey (use maple syrup if you prefer)
Optional toppings:
- fruit (raspberries, strawberries or bananas are my favourite combos with the chocolate)
- chocolate shavings
- granola (gluten-free apricot, date and coconut granola recipe)
Mix the ingredients in a bowl and serve in smaller ramekins or clear glasses. Decorate with desired garnish. Enjoy.

Fab way to liven up a plain yoghurt. I’m not a fan of fruit in yoghurt but I could definitely go for chocolate 🙂
Debbie
Def go the choc way, you’ll love it 🙂
They look so scrummy. I may leave the granola out though, haha! 🙂
