I’m back from BritMums Live 2013 and after such a whirlwind of a weekend, it’s actually quite hard to process and document all that occurred but I’ll try my best through hazy eyes and tired limbs!

BritMums Live was a truly inspiring, emotional and enlightening few days with such an inclusive, brave and brilliant blogging community. I loved every minute of it.

BritMums Live Bloggers

First and foremost it was amazing to see so many blogging friends old and new (I love you all but some of my highlights of chatter, style talk, laughter and huge hugs include hanging out with the wonderful Sophie from Super Amazing Mum, Tamsyn from Anecdotes of a Manic Mum (who was a few years above me at school) Sarah from Grenglish, Bianca from Richmond Mummy, Susanne from Ghostwritermummy, Jennie from Edspire, Lucy from Capture by Lucy, Hayley from Downs Side Up,  Steph from I’m Counting UFO’sTransatlantic Blonde and of course my colleagues and great buddies (who could be there), from our newly formed boutique social media collective Mothers and Shakers– Uju (Babes about town), Mirka (All Baby Advice) and Jacqui (Mummy’s Little Monkey). You all rock!

BritMums Live

…I was really honoured to be a finalist in the BritMums Brilliance in Blogging Awards in the video category and although I didn’t win, it was utterly fabulous to be part of the night and for my blog to be recognised-thank you and Wow! MC at the awards, writer, broadcaster and comedian Viv Groskop was laugh out loud hilarious and edgy to boot and her sparkly shorts and jacket rocked the house, right! Girl crush anyone?

…Many brilliant bloggers won at the Bibs and I was so proud of my beautiful friend Tamsyn of Anecdotes of A Manic Mum for her win in the Inspire Category-she cares for her husband Alex and family of 4 children after he suffered a brain injury playing rugby and is a true inspiration. My thoughts were also with Jennie from Edspire whose beautiful baby Matilda Mae is no longer with us, her memories will never be forgotten. Jennie is one of the most brave and inspirational women I’ve ever had the privilege to meet.

Huge Congrats also go to my Mothers and Shakers’ colleague Penny of Alexander Residence who along with T from Mummy Barrow and Annie from Mammasaurus (Team Honk), won a well deserved award for their epic work for Comic Relief.

I was so pleased too that Spencer from A Dad Called Spen won in the Writer category, I’m a huge fan of his honest, witty, beautifully written blog.

Well done to all!

BritMums Viv Groskop

Post awards, Mashers Mirka, Uju and I had the most amazing meal at beautiful Turkish restaurant Haz overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral, talking business and life (interspersed with lots of laughter of course). I simply love those girls and am so excited to be working with them and all the team helping bloggers, small businesses and brands raise their game!

On Saturday, I connected with sponsors, brands and life size penguins (!) and attended thought provoking workshops on social media and food blogging. Well done Susanna and Jennifer for all their hard work in creating such a slick, professional and fun few days. Thank you!

…I also got my much needed baby fix as was missing mine from the lovely and very brilliant bloggers BodforTea and her Little Man and Franglaise Mummy and her beautiful little baby girl. Thank you ladies!

Zalando dress

A huge thank you also to the wonderful online wardrobe Zalando who gifted me the pretty clothes I wore during the event-a whole post is dedicated to What I Wore to BritMums Live 2013 from Zalando over on my style blog Mummysgotstyle.com.  A sneaky pic from the shoot we did beforehand is above of what I wore to the awards!

Thank you too for so many blogger’s kind words about my new style blog-it really meant a lot that so many of you said you loved it and are following avidly! Honestly, it blew me away!

…What a wonderful weekend!

Now time for a lie-down, if my kids will let me!
