brilliant blog posts-Honest Mum

Welcome again you wonderful lot to #brilliantblogposts!

As you all know, there ain’t no party like a link up partaay and I can’t wait to check out all the fabulous posts that you’ll be adding. Did I just quote S Club 7? Who am I?!

For this week’s Brilliant Blog Posts, I’m sharing one of the hardest and most honest posts I’ve ever written on the traumatic birth that I experienced with my eldest son Oliver. It’s a subject I’ve touched upon briefly many times but have never before discussed in depth.

Finally – over 5 years later – I  feel ready to share my story in hope that it will help other women who have gone through a similar experience.

It’s been an emotional rollercoaster since writing the post last night, and I’ve been in floods of tears reading the comments on the blog and social media, from others who are suffering it have suffered trauma around birth.

I hope this article can help others to reach out for help and support and most importantly, know they are not alone…

I am also linking up a second post on my fabulous day meeting brands in London.

An absolute whirlwind of a day I met up with luxe swimwear brand Heidi Klein for a sneak peak of their new collection (which is gorgeous btw – make sure you check it out on the blog) and a meeting discuss our next campaign together.

Next, I hot footed in a black cab to the Harrods Christmas press preview which got me super excited for the festive season (it’s coming folks) before finishing off the day at Upper Street, a shoe designer, where I created my dream bespoke heels.

As always, link up your posts, as many as you like, old or new, add my badge and share the love. Simple.

I am filming something exciting for national TV tomorrow so while I won’t be online much I will RT once I am either tomorrow evening or on Friday if I can’t below.

This linky will also run for 2 weeks until August the 19th as I am luckily heading to Spain next week reviewing a villa for James Villas.

Believe me, I appreciate everything my blog brings and it is a joy to be taking my whole family away to sunny climes soon.

Thank you all for your love, support, moving and entertaining posts, for reading, linking and sharing, you rock,

Vicki x

Thanks for hosting! I found your birth story such an honest post and whilst it must have been very hard for you to write, I do hope you feel better for finally talking about your experience ‘out loud’. Mim x

    Thanks for hosting!
I know your birth post is going to be a very tough one to read xxx
I plan to get a coffee and sit down, when I know I can be by myself and bawl as much as I need to! Reading other peoples stories does a lot for healing the ones we carry ourselves.
Thanks for writing it Vicki. I know it’s going to mean a lot to a lot of women.

Oh Steph thank you and I hope you don’t feel too sad reading it, it has a happy ending and I hope it helps others, it was important I finally wrote it and had no idea until I sat down on Monday evening whether I could but it’s here, much love x
