Here are the books I’m ‘big heart emoji-ing’ right now I wanted to share with you guys. I get it, we’re all busy mamas and papas but nothing compares to reading a book in the bath (or on the bog) for much-needed time out from the sprogs (we love you really little ones).
I was introduced to books through my lecturer mum from an early age-in fact I think I found the first book on wild flowers she gave me in an image below! I have touching memories of matching the flowers in the book to those we would spot on our many walks in Ilkley where I grew up!

Books are such a gift and this round-up features uplifting, enriching and a little bit life-changing literature you must buy today. They’ve collectively resulted in me feeling more informed, confident and kick ass in pretty much most areas of my life be it blogging, my skin, parenting and cooking up a Fearne inspired feast in the kitchen.
Go check out the books I just can’t put down!
Cook Happy, Cook Healthy By Fearne Cotton
I’m a real foodie as you guys know and nothing makes me happier than cooking up a filling but importantly, healthy home cooked meal for my family or getting my ‘Mary Berry On’, baking my heart out.
I’m the girl who bakes at all times and usually when I should be sleeping. It makes my happy and that’s what Fearne’s all about too: happiness with her Cook Happy, Cook Healthy book!
We very rarely eat meat at home as my husband Peter is a pescetarian so Fearne’s book – which is jam-packed with lip-smacking, easy to make seafood and veggie recipes – is perfect for us!
Fearne believes that ‘most of the food you put in your body should have ingredients that make your skin glow, your hair shine, your body feel energised, your eyes bright and (keep) your kids and friends happy’. Yes to that.
Stand out recipes include her Sri Lankan curry and Courgette Fritters with Herby Yoghurt Dip. Yum!

The Million Dollar Blog By Natasha Courtenay Smith
This book is a must-read for every blogger out there. Whether you’re simply an aspiring blogger yet to write your first ever blog post or you’re established with the best of them, you need this book in your life!
Brilliantly written, ‘The Million Dollar Blog’ is bursting with valuable advice and inspiring stories from some of the world’s most popular bloggers and vloggers. I was honoured to interviewed for the book and was even quoted on the front cover which made my day/year/life! Tash has become a great friend since interviewing me for this book and I’m so glad it connected us. It’s a complete joy to know this powerhouse of a lady. Successful and so sisterly, Tash is committed to empowering everyone when it comes to embracing a digital way to work.
I’ve read the book several times and despite blogging for almost 6 years now, I took so much away from it. It’s a book I’ll keep coming back to. Most of all, I felt incredibly inspired to keep truckin’ (here’s to making my first million hey). I’ve waxed lyrical about the brilliance of blogging as you lot know, and this book affirms quite how amazing the digital sphere can be. Do not miss it. It’s out to today. You can buy it HERE.
The Quick Guide To Parenting By Laura Quick
Parenting can be a roller coaster of terrible lows and crazy highs as we know and this utterly unique, honest and hilariously funny book ‘The Quick Guide To Parenting ‘by award-winning Illustrator, Laura Quick (who I interviewed HERE) is just the pick-me-up we need to help us laugh at the hard times and cherish the good!
Whenever I’m feeling frazzled, I flick through her charming and quirky drawings to remind myself it’s not just me sometimes feeling like a failure – raising kids is tough and all parents go through.. sh*t basically (and sometimes, literally too).
Her illustrations will literally make you LOL. From the ‘pillow talk’ between a husband and wife on who’s cleaned up the wee (ROFL) to the phallus looking aeroplane drawing her kid created (LMAO), each illustration is witty, sharp and so relatable, you’ll feel like you’re reading your own autobiography!

Skin by Liz Earle
I, like many women, suffer from PCOS, which can lead to issues with my skin becoming oily.
This book is literally my saviour!
Skin by Liz Earle is a 6-week programme to nourish your skin from the inside out.
Each week focuses on a different aspect of skincare from detox and exfoliation, cleansing and healing, to nourishing, balance and, finally, radiance and maintenance.

I’ve really noticed results too – my skin feels much more balanced and I feel more confident thanks to Liz!

How To Be Fearless: Brave New Girl by Lou Hamilton
Self-confidence and inspiring other women to follow their dreams is one of my greatest passions in life. It’s something I write about frequently on the blog and have even hosted workshops with Stylist Magazine and The British Library along with my partner in crime Jessica Huie MBE. Our mission is to inspire and give other women the tools to make their dreams a reality!
This is why I am such a huge fan of Lou Hamilton’s new book, How To Be Fearless: Brave New Girl. Each page of captivating illustrations and uplifting, moving sayings take you on a one-way journey to fearlessness.
For me this is one of those books I’ll dip in and out of for life. Before a big meeting, when taking risks or simply when I’m need of a mid-afternoon booster along with a dark chocolate bar, this book will make your soul smile!
Open it on a random page. Soak in Lou’s wisdom, pause, reflect, kick ass!
