The Amazing Tidy Books Children’s Bookcase

tidy books childrens' personalised bookcase

We’re a family of bookworms here in the Broadbent household, my Mum was a university lecturer and pretty much everyone on my Dad’s side were teachers and headteachers, so the love of the written word is clearly in my DNA.

Reading is such a pleasurable experience so I’m delighted that my passion for literature has been passed down to eldest son, Oliver, 5, who is currently learning to read and write, and is doing so well at it too!

In fact, he’s whizzing through books so fast, I’m convinced he’ll be on the Dostoyevsky before his tenth birthday 😉

However, I must add, as well as possessing the ‘bookworm’ gene, Oliver also comes with the ‘messy’ gene too (no doubt from his Daddy as I’m a bit of neat freak) and his thirst for hardbacks has resulted in cluttered piles littered all over his bedroom floor.

After spending literally hours searching for one of his favourite books ‘Tiddler’ by Julia Donaldson that had gone walk about, sucked into the Bermuda triangle of mess only to be found under his bed right at the back, enough was enough!

My inner ‘Kim and Aggie’ had been ignited and order was to be restored! The books would be tidied!

And the answer to my pleas? The amazing Tidy Books Children’s Bookcase of course!

Tidy Books Children's Bookcase

A gorgeous, neatly arranged flat bookcase drilled onto the wall. Perfection. (One of my very first books The Tale of Peter Rabbit has pride of place too).

Nothing lovelier than handing down your own much-loved books to your kids.

I love that it’s personalised too and Oliver was so excited to read his name up on the wall, he’s since learnt to read and write Alexander’s too thanks to the bookcase!

named book shelf

This stylish and sturdy bookcase showcases all of your kids fave books front-facing so its super easy for your little one to find what they’re looking for and it also means that old favourites don’t get lost at the bottom of the pile too!

Each bookshelf holds a rather impressive 85 books (wow), so it’s perfect for my two baby bibliophiles!

Even though Alexander is only 2 1/2, he’s already amassing a pretty impressive book collection of his own and loves nothing more than for either Peter or myself to read him a bedtime story or to get lost in a picture book adventure all on his own!

Tidy Books Children’s Bookcases retail from £135 and we opted for the pretty personalised bookcase in white (£169) displaying both boys’ names in these gorgeous coloured wooden letters!

And good news for mums and dads too, as the bookshelves are incredibly quick and easy to assemble. It only took Peter and I around 30 minutes to make (with a little help from Oliver too!)

And the fact that it is such good quality (each case is made of limewood using no mdf) means I’m confident it will stand the test of time. Who knows – maybe one day we will see a copy of Dostoyevsky displayed proudly on the shelf! 😉

And it isn’t just myself that loves the Tidy Books bookshelf as the company has won countless awards and has been featured in the likes of the Guardian and Ideal Home with rave, well deserved reviews.

The company also strives to have as minimal impact on the environment as possible using FSC certified sustainable wood, minimal packaging and environmentally friendly water lacquer, which is better for the producers, the planet and our children too!
