We celebrated a special weekend as it was Greek/Orthodox Easter on Sunday, making it a double whammy with English Easter falling the Sunday before. It was the perfect family weekend.
I wish we could have been with my family in Leeds to celebrate but soon they’ll be visiting for Florence’s baptism and we’ll have belated celebrations.
The Greek Orthodox Church uses the Julian calendar not the Gregorian calendar that most other Christians use so the dates only sync up every 7 years. All Orthodox Christians use the Julian calendar by the way.
We enjoyed a special weekend as it was mine and Peter’s 16 year wedding anniversary (of our Greek wedding, it’s 17 from our Methodist one), marking the occassion with some cake and a glass of wine, and we attended The Windsor Parish Church where a baptism was taking place in the service preparing us for Florence’s christening this Sunday. I was so moved, I cried. What a special few days. These are the days of lives and the ones to cherish always.
The boys are so wonderful with their little sister. I adore these photos of them looking after Florence in church in the play area. Oliver is so confident with caring for her and Alexander is wonderful at playing and entertaining her. Age gaps are such a gift as they extend your older children’s childhoods as they get to play for longer and yet having younger siblings helps them mature in many ways too. There are so many pros, we just don’t hear enough about them.
I feel truly blessed to have this little family! Every weekend is special with these guys. Soppy but true. I’d just love a little more sleep. Looking at you Florence!!! That’s the one thing about having a baby at 40, you really do miss your sleep!
