A Review of The Real Greek in Windsor

The British Greek Cypriot girl in me NEEDS her Greek food hit on the regular so I’m grateful to live near to the The Real Greek in Windsor which offers authentic, delicious Greek food with a side plate of friendly service and beautiful decor (hello flower arch doorway) and a sunny ambience makes you feel like you’ve had lunch in Santorini without any of the queuing in airports or flight delays. Fabulous darling!

Nothing beats Greek food in my book!

It was my husband Peter’s birthday so we ordered all of his favourites with meze plates piled high with Greek flat bread, dips (hummus, tzatziki, meliztanosalada), crudites, olives, Greek salad, beetroot and feta cheese salad; seafood spanning salt cod, calamari and prawns as well as meatballs (vegan ones too) and bbq chicken wings, chips sprinkled with oregano and Greek slaw.

Carefully prepared with fresh, seasonal and authentic ingredients, this feast was so delicious, if I closed my eyes, I was back in Cyprus at a Greek taverna by the beach. Bliss.

Washed down with traditional Greek lemonade on ice.

Just like Mama makes. Literally. Food that feels like home. Food that feels like motherland. What could be better?

After the feast came more fun at the park with the kids running around Eton.

Thank you to Dotty Dungarees for gifting Xander and Florence’s super cool, well cut and vibrant dungarees each. They couldn’t look cuter if they tried.

Thank you too of course to The Real Greek Windsor for the delicious complimentry meal, Ilias the manager for always looking after us with so much care and affection, the wonderful Martha and all of the staff in our local branch. It’s always a pleasure eating there.
