Being a mum can be isolating experience.
I'm super excited to share a brand new feature with you all as I join forces with the formidable TV Psychologist Emma Kenny in a bid to help offer guidance, support and solutions to your problems, right here on my blog Honest Mum.
I can't believe I turned 35 last Monday! Whoop the whoop! It's only just over a week in but so far, so good people!
We're often scared to follow our professional dreams as mothers aren't we? You, I, no doubt most women reading this blog post (those not yet mothers too) because most of us have the desire to have both-a family and successful career, yet so often, as women we're made to feel by others, perpetuated by the media and society as a whole, that we can't lead, achieve and reach the top of our profession, while raising a family.
Kelle Bryan was part of Britain’s most successful R&B group ever, Eternal, selling over 10 million records, notching up 14 top 15 UK hits and four top ten albums, as well as achieving Brit Award nominations, MOBOs and Smash Hits Awards, embarking on 4 world tours and even performing for Pope Jean Paul II.
At the start of the summer, a crazy - yet incredible - thing happened to me.
I struggled to find a title I liked if I'm honest to begin with, I wanted to simply let this post flow before I pinned down the exact words I hoped would draw you in. That would encapsulate the meaning behind my words.
Lina Waite is a stay at home mum of two fun-loving boys with a passion for clothes and fashion. She sells retro inspired Swedish clothes brand me&i at home parties and loves dressing her sons in cool clothes.
Blogging is utterly brilliant isn't it?! Thanks to my style blog Mummy's Got Style originally and this post HERE, stunning luxury designer baby bag brand Nova Harley hired me to model their beautiful changing bags, and nearly 1 year to the day, and 3 campaigns later, I'm hugely proud to be their model and ambassador.
My own Mum is my biggest inspiration, the smartest, most selfless woman who did a cracking job of raising my brother, Solos and I and offers me crucial childcare, support and love in raising my own two sons. I literally don't know what I would do without her. I always try to make sure my mum knows how much I appreciate her. From simple spontaneous texts telling her that I love her to glamorous nights out at the opera. However, I still like to make a big fuss about her on Mother's Day. Yes its driven by commercialism but who cares! It's the one day of the year that I can dedicate to the number one woman in my life! I didn't think my mum could be more amazing if she tried, but she has surpassed herself and is kindly offering one lucky reader the chance to win a £50 voucher for my family's multi-award winning restaurant The Olive Tree to be used this Sunday (15 March 2015) as an amazing Mothers Day treat!
It's an absolute pleasure to feature this lip-lickingly good competition for mamas everywhere-a stunning chocolatey hamper by Hotel Chocolat created especially for my readers (you lucky lot)!
Oh how long have I wanted to write this post! It's been on my mind a while and I'd like to write it to encourage friendship and care among new mums...
