More Summer Style Buys- Topshop, Gap, Zara & Diane von Furstenberg

Gap denim dress

I have a bit of a shopping problem. Quite a big one according to my husband whose wardrobe I’ve taken over pretty much. Those who follow me here know that I can’t walk past a Topshop without going in (as my Insta stories testify). I’ve started sharing purchases in regular posts here on the blog as fashion is a love of mine as is receiving emails from other women saying I’ve inspired them to buy clothes they wouldn’t have thought of and feel more sassy and confident for it. You can’t beat those kind of emails.

When it comes to my body, I’m hourglass with a 32E chest, small waist and big hips and I usually wear a UK 10 in most high street stores although some dresses here are an 8. I lost over a stone recently taking me to a UK 8-10 from a 10-12 which you can read about here.

The dress above I bought in Gap a couple of months ago (available at Zalando as I can’t see it on the Gap website) and endlessly love. My proportions make it hard for me to find the ideal shirt dress, most sag at the waist and pull at the chest but this one is utterly perfect. Rucksack and tassle earrings from Zara. Sandals, Topshop.

Another buy I have on repeat is this Bardot floral dress from Topshop (I bought the pink version yesterday). This one is actually a size 6 as they were out of 8s and 10s and fits perfectly. The shoulders don’t budge either like some other Bardot style dresses I’ve tried on the high street. Lush. Shades are Bulgari and sadly I can’t remember where the earrings are from but the girls on Love Island have the same ones so I’m sure similar ones will be everywhere soon!

Next up is this designer beauty from Diane Von Fursternberg. A long-time fan (introduced to the label by my glam Mama) DVF truly understands the female form and this bold statement dress, reduced from The Outnet (now sold out) was the perfect frock for my recent announcement post with Herbal Essences who I’m an ambassador for! Yay!

A wraparound dress which DVF is famous for, this is pretty low so I paired it with a H&M vest. This is a UK 10 and is true to size. Vibrant, flattering with tons of personality, there is nothing from Diane von Furstenberg I’ve ever thought wasn’t for me. That’s really saying something isn’t it.

Then this post is an ode to Topshop with tea dresses galore and a cute tee and cut off jeans.

Let’s go.

This lace trim floral tea dress is playful, soft and comfy, and will work all year round. With this cray summer weather-sunny one minute, raining the next, I played it safe and paired it with tights and leopard print boots by Air and Grace.

Next up is this cool, slogan tee I wore for a day out celebrating the Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s 40th anniversary. A revolution tee for a revolutionary place where park meets art.

Jeans are Jamie jeans from Topshop that I chopped into shorts last year. Homemade frayed shorts created in minutes.

Heels c/o M&S from a shoot I did for the store earlier in the summer.

Last but not least is this old favourite picked up a few months back that I’d wear forever if I could. A wrap around floral dress with pretty sleeves, Xander and I got our pose on in front of our favourite pink wall (yes we have a favourite, I am a blogger after all) in York.

I can’t see this online although I’m sure I saw it on the sale rack in Topshop the other day so go in, in case and there are lots of other pretty in pink dresses available too.

I picked up a few more as it goes yesterday so once I get the chance to photograph, I’ll share on the blog.

Grey wedges of dreams c/o M&S.

As always, I like to add a vest to low dresses.

Xander, the dude wears Ralph Lauren Kids shirt and trainers, Zara Kids skinny jeans.

Do you like my style? Are you as obsessed with Topshop as I am?
