Hosting A Bake & Brew As An Ambassador for The Children’s Society

Cake always tastes so much sweeter when it’s in aid of charity.

One Sunday in August, I hosted a fun-filled Bake and Brew as a fundraiser for vital charity, The Children’s Society who I’m an ambassador for.

Inviting friends and family over, we had an afternoon full of cake, cuppas, laughter- and also a sneaky couple of proseccos.

I’ve never seen the kids so quiet-cupcakes will do that to children!

Hosting a Bake and Brew is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Not only do you raise money for an amazing cause – it’s also the perfect excuse to spend time with loved ones. And of course, there’s the cake! Lots and lots of cake!

Hosting a Bake and Brew is super simple.

You can either host it at home like I did – or if you want to up the ante – hire out a village hall or local cafe.

Invite your guests and then it’s time to unleash your inner Mary Berry (or Paul Hollywood for the fellas) and get baking.

Guests can either donate at the event, on a Just Giving page (here’s mine, hint, hint) or you can sell cakes and cups of tea individually – all to raise valuable funds for The Children’s Society.

It’s an honour to be an ambassador for the Children’s Society and represent a charity that has positively impacted on so many children

The Children’s Society worked directly with over 18,000 vulnerable children and young people last year, and the charity’s current campaign will bring life-changing support to more than 5.6 million.

Their support services help children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable and have nowhere left to turn.

They also campaign for changes to laws affecting children and young people, to stop the mistakes of the past being repeated in the future.

Such an incredible charity. And one you can easily raise money for, by hosting your Bake and Brew!

I love baking – it’s one of my favourite pastimes and chills me out like nothing else – baking and then hosting the party was fun from start to finish.

And here’s the final results – ta da! I’ve included links to the recipes (buns at the front were bought so you don’t have to make everything you know)!

My friend Louise of Baker Lou made the magnificent lemon drip cake at the front and raffled it off on her FB page to support the charity too. What a star!

Orange and vanilla cupcakes were ones I made the night before and decorated that morning! They were so quick and easy to make- and tasted delicious (even if I say so myself)!

I added some sprinkles on the top to make them extra-pretty!
