We considered visiting my husband's parents in South Africa this half term (my child has two weeks off from pre-school) as you can get good holiday deals if you book in advance but we ultimately decided a whole 24 hours of travelling door to door might not be much fun with two little ones, so we've flown them over instead and they arrive tomorrow.
Autumn has definitely set in now – the leaves are turning, the temperatures are dipping and the nights are getting darker. So, it can only mean one thing – time to invest in our biggest fashion purchase of the year, the winter coat.
I was really honoured to guest post over at Transatlantic Blonde's fabulous What I Wore Wednesday slot last week. I adore a great hat and I picked this bad boy Fedora up from Oxfam for £8 (originally M&S and never been worn before) to add to my collection.
Hobbs' Pretty A/W Shoes & Boots...I'm totally head over heels shoe mad and really need to curb my addiction, it's just so hard. I really love the confidence a great pair of shoes or boots gives you irrespective of how you might feel about your body that day or even year. A great pair of shoes which fit well always lifts my spirits.
Those who follow this blog here and my style blog mummysgotstyle.com know I'm a little fashionista at heart and Michael Kors is my go-to guy for watches, bags and summer dresses.
Yesterday was a spent at fabulous vintage inspired, super stylish Fever London's flagship store in the West End trying on Oh so pretty pieces from their hot new Autumn/Winter collection.
When Dame Kelly Holmes stepped off the track for the last time in 2005, it marked the end of a rollercoaster career of devastating lows and incredible highs. Yet the race goes on- even if these days the flashbulbs are the ones found on the red carpet, not the running track.
A stripe-lover, this Sunday I wore my latest buy from Phase Eight, a 'Stripe Cindy Tunic' in Mushroom/Ivory for a laid back lunch and post cinema trip. Loving discovering cool backgrounds for these shoots too.
A fan of the sales and discounted dresses in particular, I was super excited to find Debenhams' sale in full swing on some of my favourite brands on my return from holiday, including current obsession Floozie by Frost French.
The other day, I received an exciting email from online sunglasses boutique Pret a voir asking if I might like some Chanel sunglasses to model and review. Obviously this took a lot of careful thought and consideration as you can imagine....So about half a millisecond later, I gracefully accepted while dancing round the living room!
A lady can never have too many dresses and now with so many discounts and reductions online, it's too hard to resist the summer sales! Here are my pick of Isme's pretty summer dresses from occasion wear to holiday frocks...and you can use the Isme discount code to get money off these purchases too. Happy shopping!
This time last year I was hosting the BritMums Get Fit Facebook group and busting a gut every day doing army-style workouts to get in shape. Fast forward twelve months and...well...yeah, not so much.
Those who follow this blog you'll know that I adore clothes; designer, high street, vintage, clothes for me, the kids and heck even sometimes clothes for the husband and my Dad (at least I'm helping the economy)-I just hope my accountant's not reading this!
I love my boys (Oliver, 3 and Alexander, 8 months) to look super chic yet comfortable of course and think there's so much wonderful variety for little men out there be it designer or high street fare.
We all do it, put ourselves down, tell ourselves our bodies are not good enough, slim enough, curvy enough, toned enough and nothing puts the pressure on like the summer months. Well it needs to stop. And now.
I promise to bring you the best of fashion finds as I source them, be it from PR samples to good old retail therapy. I can hear my husband heavy breathing as I type, but it's my duty to you fashionistas, right! Hehe!
So I'm very nearly back into most of my old wardrobe bar a few items which is exciting and my post baby body deserves a bit of retail therapy so what better excuse than to splash out on some pretty summer dresses in time for the sun coming out! Here are my picks of the latest fashion buys I've got my eyes on.
Over on my Mummy's Got Style blog, you can read about my girly weekend away to Manchester for one of my best friend's birthday's Beccy, above! There was dancing, more dancing and a bit of barefoot dancing by the end of the night. This Mamma got her cool back! Enjoy!
