When Honest Mum asked me to do a guest post I was delighted. She’s a cool chick who loves beautiful things just as much as I do, so how could I refuse. And since I’m holidaying in my homeland of India, I thought I would share some goodies from here. I’ve come across lots of lovely kiddy stuff that I could bring you but I’ve decided to share my absolute favourite Indian store called Good Earth, especially since there are a few rumours flitting about that the store may start selling online very soon (fingers crossed).
Good Earth create the most delectable goodies for the home and for kids too. The kids range called Gumdrops includes beautiful bedding, toys, clothes, plates and more. Walking in to the store is always a real feast for the eyes… wherever you look there’s something super desirable on offer. The designs draw heavily from the rich culture and diversity of India but are given Good Earths very own unique twist. Elephants, tigers, camels, birds, lotus flowers, Maharajah’s and even chillies featureon their exquisite offerings. Their kids range is relatively new but it’s already been a huge hit.
“True luxury is in the detail of everyday living…” says Good Earth’s founder Anita Lal. I couldn’t agree more. It’s all about being surrounded by little everyday things that have been carefully designed and turned in to objects of beauty. To add to this, Good Earth is an eco-friendly store that uses mainly organic cotton and nurtures craftsmanship in a way that is beneficial to the environment and to society too. It may not yet be available in the UK but if those rumours about an impending online store are true, then hopefully the wait won’t be long. And if they’re not, you’ll just have to take a trip to incredible India!
