featured postpicnic in the gardenSunday saw the sun come out to play in Yorkshire, so we rallied round to my folks’ house and had a delightful picnic in their garden.

We spend a lot of time at the house I grew up in, just 15 minutes from where we live, it really is ours and the boys’ second home. Overlooking breathtaking views of open countryside, a forest and reservoir, the kids never tire of observing cows in the fields and squeal in delight at the pretty pheasants and peacocks in the garden.

…With light snacks,  homemade hummus, rice cakes, crusty bread for those who eat it, Primula cheese to sample on ryvita, Greek salad, a Mediterranean platter of feta, prawns and marinated olives (see the recipe HERE) and some cream cakes for the kids to follow!

It was one of those oh so perfect picnic days.

*Primula is a healthy, high protein spreadable and squeezable cheese without additives, flavourings or colourings and we sampled the Cheese and Chives, Cheese and Ham and Cheese and Prawns varieties. Tasty, fun for the kids to use, they were a fabulous accompaniment to ryvita and rice cakes.

With National Picnic Week just around the corner there has never been a greater excuse to get outside with the family.
