A Big Glam Greek 50th

Aunty Zak is in the purple and Aunty Angelou in the lime green.

My gorgeous and oh so glam-‘can you believe she’s 50′ Aunty Zak flew in from Marbella where she and her husband Chris live, to celebrate her 50th in Leeds with all her closest family and friends. And boy was it a Big Glam Greek 50th!

The party was held at one of my parents’ restaurants-The Olive Tree Greek Restaurant in Rodley, a grand Victorian building filled with bright pink and orange flower arrangements and chic balloons… and we literally ate, drank and danced the night away.

The whole place was just brimming with so much love for our Aunty Zak it made me so utterly proud of what a strong, loving family we are and so many generations of us filled that room from the youngest in our family, my cousin Anna’s little baby boy (yet to be named) at only 10 days old to Aunts, Uncles, first, second cousins and more. I wish my Grandma Annetta had been there with us, she would have been so happy to celebrate her ‘baby’s’ big 50.

The speeches moved us to tears as my Mum along with Zak’s best friends Angela and Liza reminisced about wild times in Manchester growing up, how she only looks 30…and a half, and how much they miss her now she’s a Marbelle Belle!

…Little Oliver and his favourite cousins Andreas and Olivia entertained us all with their Greek dancing (my little Greekie) and my breathtakingly beautiful cousin 19 year old Georgia relished in looking after baby Alexander when I was letting my hair down on the dancefloor!

Today, Tuesday is actually Zak’s birthday-she was my First Lady in Waiting (Greeks only have fellow Greeks as their Maid of Honours) at my Greek wedding and she will be godmother to my beloved Alexander whom she adores. Happy Birthday Aunty Zak, we love you….and you still look 30… and a half and always will! Mwah x
